SGH Thai Studies Field Trip

In an effort to enrich the learning of a multitude of cultures & the symbiosis of a multitude of races of Asia, an overseas study program was held in the Phayao prefecture of Thailand September 20 to September 25, 2017.

The theme of this year’s program focused two major problems of Thailand, which are human trafficking and drugs. Until last year, the two previous trips of the SGH Thai program utilized the YMCA Phayao Center to come to know about the problems of human and drug trafficking. Through doing homestays, visiting schools, interacting with the people of the village, and learning information from Thai police, students were able to deeply understand the people of that area and the situation of their problems. Even after the completion of the program, students have continued to research and deepen their knowledge about the two issues.
