Ainu Special Lecture 3 Ebetsu’s Archive of Birth-Places Curator Mr. Sonobe

　On Thursday, June 14th, Mr. Masaki Sonobe, Curator of Ebetsu’s Archive of Birth-Places, gave a lecture to the third grade students of international society.
　The theme was “The Sakhalin Ainu and Ebetsu.” The theme doesn’t mean that “Ainu = Hokkaido” but rather “Ainu and the Settling of Ebetsu.” His detailed explanations dripped with so much tantalizing information that there was barely enough time to say everything. Also, students enthusiastically jotted down everything they could as they were absorbed by the curator’s titillating lecture.
